CONTEXT

Dezudio is an information design, interaction design, and design research consultancy in Pittsburgh, PA

During my Summer 2025 internship at Dezudio, I co-contributed to several projects across health-related and digital content. My contributions focused on visual design, content development, and design research support for client-facing initiatives. Since my internship, I have continued to work and contribute to projects with Dezudio.

REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH DECISION SUPPORT TOOLS

Refining medical illustration and animation for university-led reproductive health videos

I contributed to the visual design and illustration refinement for a set of educational videos developed for a university gender health research group.

Working within an established illustration style, we focused on refining the visuals to represent key ideas related to anatomy and the vasectomy procedure. We prioritized a set of illustrations that function cohesively as a unified set.

We also contributed to the animation for these educational videos. The goal was to address common misconceptions by accurately showing what happens after the procedure, such as changes related to ejaculation and sperm movement.

We created smaller studies focused on movement, timing, and alignment between animation, narration, and captions. We explored examples such as static versus actively moving sperm, fluid movement speed through the ducts, and how visual content aligned with script.

**As the vasectomy decision-support tool is currently undergoing testing, I’m unable to share a live link at this time, but I look forward to its release and seeing it in use soon.

VISION CORRECTION RESEARCH

Supporting design research in the vision correction space exploring the experiences of contact lens wearers

Eindra and I supported a design research project in the vision correction space, exploring the experiences of contact lens wearers.

Our role involved reviewing and compiling qualitative clinical video data. We edited raw recordings into consolidated patient videos by removing non-relevant segments such as setup and off-topic discussion, improving usability for research synthesis and review. We also identified, tagged, and timestamped key behavioral moments such as lens insertion, removal, and reported discomfort to support structured analysis and study tracking.

MYANA

Website content development and social media marketing assets for Myana

Eindra and I focused on the site information architecture, page layouts, and content strategy for a promotional website supporting Myana, a postpartum app for new birthgivers. Working from an initial structural concept, we determined exactly what content would live on each page and how it should be organized.

Using Figma, we structured the navigation and content hierarchy across a 6-page site (Home, About, Team, Resources, News, and FAQ), refining layouts and content flow to improve clarity, discoverability, and user experience.

We also design templates for social media content to support Myana’s outreach. Looking at existing Myana materials, we wanted to highlight that the app was created by scientists but built explicitly for new moms. We used the brand's existing colors, fonts, and tone of voice to create social media posts. We made these posts in square, horizontal, and vertical shapes across three different styles so they could be used for different types of content.

We also helped write the captions for Instagram, LinkedIn, and X, making sure the message stayed consistent but still fit each specific platform.

REFLECTION

Building skills in collaboration and time management

Working alongside the Dezudio team and Eindra taught me how to balance quality, timelines, and collaboration effectively. Every project required adaptability and close attention to detail from refining visuals to organizing research materials. I learned to manage my time intentionally through time blocking and task prioritization, ensuring that deadlines were met without compromising the quality of the work.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

I want to sincerely thank the Dezudio team for welcoming me into the studio and providing guidance throughout my internship. A special thanks to Eindra, my co-designer for mentorship, collaboration, and thoughtful feedback on every project. I also want to recognize Ashley and Raelynn for their continuous support, insights, and encouragement throughout the summer and onwards.
