HI THERE, I'M ELIJAH!

I come from a background in the life sciences, psychology, and art—a mix that taught me how to ask thoughtful questions, see patterns, and make sense of complexity.

My experience in healthcare, especially during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, sparked an interest in bridging the gap between experts and everyday people. Most recently, I co-led Groundswell, a grant-funded design system developed with UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital to support oncology staff well-being.

I hold a master's degree in Interaction Design from Carnegie Mellon University and a bachelor's degree in Biology and Psychology from the University of Miami.

My love for music and games drew me into world-building, where sound, story, and visuals intertwine to create immersive experiences. I bring that same lens to my work, treating each project as its own world.

MY VALUES

Find the Right Story

By shaping the right story for specific audiences, one can align stakeholders around a shared purpose.

Small Wins

Impact often comes from small, thoughtful decisions rather than large, overengineered solutions. Starting small builds momentum, focus, and room to iterate.

Humanizing Data

Strong solutions are grounded in data, but guided by people. I balance quantitative insights with qualitative, human stories to ensure data reflects lived experience. I am inspired by Giorgia Lupi’s Data Humanism.

Trust Is the Foundation

Trust is the glue that holds teams and projects together. I strive to build relationships where feedback is honest, constructive, and rooted in shared goals, so that critique feels supportive and collaboration stays open and productive.
